Another urbex trip yesterday. This time three of us went a bit south, to the Bennett College in Millbrook and then Holy Cross Campus of Pius XII Youth and Family Services in Rhinebeck.
Bennett College, popularly known as Bennett School for Girls, is one of the most impressive abandoned sites I’ve seen. It’s viewable from Rt 343 if you want to take a look, and totally worth it in my opinion. If you needed nightmare material, this is it. If outside appearances weren’t enough, as we got near a pair of hawks took wing from the roof and started circling the place. Right, normal, smart people wouldn’t go any closer.
But we’re not smart, and we did go closer. And our curiosity was rewarded with a visit from Millbrook’s finest. After about fifteen minutes inside, the police showed up, took our information, gave us a brief questioning, and sent us on our way. Probably not a great idea to grab lunch in a Millbrook diner anytime soon. I managed to get a dozen or so shots, with just a handful I liked.
Plan B worked out much better, and I have too many photos from the Holy Cross Campus to process. An update will come as soon as I take my sweet time.

That sucks you had to leave early…the pics you got are good, though. :) Seems like an awesome place.
Thanks! Like I said in flickr, this place is seriously unsafe… it was probably best that we didn’t go much further. I’d want my lucky magic unicorn horn or something if I go back, to protect me.
You know…I hear Bennett is super creepy at night.
